Recording and pre-mixdown levels.
Forums
Hi,
I want to ask something, I hope it's not too newbiesh.
When we are recording stuff what should be our trim level for best results? I have a MOTU 828mk3 and I usually record at 30db but somewhere I read that it should be 0db?
Second question; Maximum level at the mixing must be 0db again, right? I mean in Logic, no track should be above 0db. Am I right?

Shure 545S type 2 cuppling
Forums
Hey guys was wondering if anyone had access to old Amphenol mc4 f/m plugs, as the one that came with the mic was terrible, it was a real hackjob in terms of soldering, not fixable.
So far all I've found is a place in Britain that sells premade cables, I would just like the part itself so I can make my own cable. It's cheaper!

12 min - 16 max simultaneous analog inputs to pro tools question...
Forums
Ok guys, I tried a seach but came up empty. Here goes...
without all the why questions... how do i run 12-16 simultaneous analog inputs into a pro tools tracking session without buying a unobtainable board?
With cubase, I just run everyone through my Tascam US1641 and it works like a charm.
sound forge 9 in Sonar 8 PE
Forums
I'm drawing a blank here...
I used to have, some years ago, Sonar 3 PE and Sound forge 6. every time I right-clicked on an audio clip Sonar gave the option of editing it WITHIN SOUND FORGE (as if going to it, edit it and then close it and "come back" to the track view in sonar).

Beginning field audio equipment that will make my money back?
Forums
I just graduated from film school and finding a job is way more difficult than I was expecting. So I figured since I want to do audio I should just buy some equipment to do field work that pays a little bit ($100-$200). I'm nervous about spending the money because I know people are picky about brands and models when hiring audio.
