More Power issues
Forums
Help. I need power conditioning, and surge/outage protection for my studio. Right now I got nothin except noisy power, occasional surges, and crappy little surge protectors that allowed my MAC's power unit to get toasted. Any recommendations for gear? I read the post by Bob Rogers, but there didn't seem to be any specific manufacturers or models listed other than Furman.

Cubase SX 3 crashes with multiple Firepods (OS X, Quad-G5)
Forums
Hello Recording.org!
We are migrating Cubase SX 3 projects (and all audio) from an older PC to a new Quad-core G5 with 2 PreSonus Firepods, and of course the latest Mac version of Cubase SX 3.
FIRST PROBLEM:
Cubase SX 3 crashes when trying to use BOTH Firepods that are connected and setup (as an Aggregrate Device) in Audio/Midi Setup.
PCMCIA card for mixing only
Forums
Hello,
I am looking for some advice. I do exclusively location recording (church choirs, school concerts, that sort of thing). My "studio" is simply a room in my house that I have optimized for critical listening and mixing. Given I still have my day job, and limited space, anything I can do to be more efficient (both less time and taking up less room) is of interest to me.

Power conditioner for mobile unit
Forums
I'm getting an Alesis HD24 for use as a mobile unit. I'll be doing some outdoor concerts where I'm not as confident of the power source as I would be indoors. I usually use the typical Furman rack rider power conditioner for my PA rig. What do you all use with mobile recording rigs?

Evaluating A Cappella Mix (Plugin, Eq, Pan, layering)
Forums
HI
I am willing to share the production behind this bonus track from my recent album, "Deusa De MArfim".
No autotune and similar tools were used, all vocals performed by the same person.
Just layering of several tracks, going from 6 to 18 tracks., EQing and panning trajectories.
You may listen to it on here: "A.C à Capella"
Need more inputs for 002R
Forums
I have a Digidesign 002R running Pro Tools LE 6.9. I need to add 8 more XLR mic inputs/pres. Any ideas? I like the PreSonus Firepod but, will it work with the 002R? What do I need?

custom racking old modules
Forums
Does anyone have advice for how to approach a custom racking project (i.e. getting old console modules working as standalone units)? I'd like to attempt to do it myself, but I'm having trouble finding any good resources online or otherwise. Is the bottom line that an amateur really shouldn't expect to be able to do this? I hope not!
