I've just sold a G3 pismo powerbook, 400MHz 320 RAM. He's installed VST 32 but when he opens vst performance the overload light is flashing on and off. There is nothing at all happening, a couple of audio tracks, no plugins nothing. Any ideas on how I can help him rectify this?

I am hearing talk out there that with version 7 that we now may turn on our hyperthreading. I've heard two things,one is that it is only beneficial to people with dual core processors or dual processors. The other is that it doesn't make a difference at all with single pro(what the hell is the abb. for this!) So far I think things are the same other than it takes 3 sec.

Allright, here's my situation; I need to take 4-5 Logic projects, or the content of them, and make them into one project / " one song"...

Hello, I have been using the m-box with pro tools le for a while now. I want to have a huge board in front of me to control what I see on my screen instead of moving the mouse all the time. I know digi design makes some small one with like 8 or 16 tracks, but I want something big, like the ICON (maybe not THAT big)... and of course the ICON is way out of my price range.

I'm kind of curious about how hard you guys like to pan your guitars/overheads/harmonies and other such stuff. For example do you like to have your guitars way on the outside, the harmonies, then overheads?

I have started designing my pro tools studio around a Digidesign 002 rack, so far I have an Alesis SR16 midi'd to a Korg Trton which is then connected via Midi out to the 002 rack. I have a marshall amp and an old digital RP3 digitech unit for my guitars plus a Shure SM57 and SM58.

I posted in the Vocal Booth forum and I'm just about to buy a mic cable.

I was thinking that seeing as this is a Pro Audio forum maybe you guys would better understand a small section of a web page so that I can make my decision one way or another.

I'm recording an acoustic electric and using a sure microphone, when recording I have very low volume on the mic, co I adjust it so that the guitar does not flood out the vocals, however the volume is extremely low. Is there a way to turn up the final project before burning it to a CD which would require extremely excessive use of volume in the car or wherever?

i used to have reason Le which came with my Pro Tools bundle and in reason redrum there were presets for patterns so i didnt have to make my own.

Now ive changed to Cubase sx3 and have bought reason 3 and in redrum there are no built in presets for redrum patterns.

My question is: Does anyone know where i could download or buy redrum patterns?
