Hey, I just made the switch from adobe audition to a pro tools setup, and low and behold! No effects! well, like 8 horrible effects.

I am on the hunt for the finest, free-est plugins i can get for pro tools LE on XP.

hi, i was wondering if anybody can let me know how to record an audio track with the metronome on and not actually record the metronome. Its driving me crazy!
i had this configured before but my brother has been pi**ing around with my comp.

I have a decant vocal set up, i am making some nice beats with all thevirtual stuff. (mini moog, modular, absynth, all the NIstuff, Bosendorfer 290, Plug Sound, everythinggg).

I want to get into the Hardware production... I have a Micro Korg, I have a midi keyboard, Alesis Q6...

What I want to know is, anyone use these?

Do you need hardware to run Pro Tools?

I am not a Cubase user yet, still doing some research.

I am coming from a PT LE environment and I am wondering about the automation capabilites of Cubase. I would imagine that they are at least comprable to PT but I would like to hear some feedback.

I am also particularly interested in Plugin automation which is quite easy to execute in PT.

I`ve been reading up one a lot of the topics conserning preamps / Microphones. One thing strikes me: It seems there is a general agrement on the fact that the microphone itself has the biggest influnce on the sound in a signalchain..

So.. cashing out 3K for a Neve.. Is it really worth the money?

I am looking to get a 19 inch rack, 7 feet tall (approx. 44U).
The prices I see all around me are over my budget.

Does anyone know of where I can get those for less than a $100 ?
Could there be any places who are actually trying to get rid of those ?

I got a new preamp and I stuck it in the rack. The rack has no side, top, or back panels, so theres plenty of breathing space.The manufacturer recommends a full space above and below the unit for ventilation, yet whenever I see those fancy pictures of those fancy pro studios, the gear is always racked piece on top of piece, usually in a rack with side and top panels.
