Cubase for dummies...
Forums
Ok so i just got Cubase SX, and i have no idea how to use it... but i'll figure all that out. My problem is that it's not recording the sounds i'm playing in. What i've done, is connect my guitar to my PC through the 'microphone socket' at the back of the computer using an adapter. Cubase isn't picking it up, but it is picking up like the sounds my speakers make when someone signs into msn...

I was wondering if the Cakewalk program can record analog. I have a specific sound I want in my record but with MIDI i can't get that sound. How would i get that specific sound?

Anybody using Logic pro on G4 Powerbook?
Forums
I just read on apple.com about the required specs and they say dual G4 or G5 is recommended!
How well does Logic perform on Powerbooks? (Please give me details as to how many tracks, how many plugins/VSTis etc.)

Any1 here make the move from PT to CuBase/Nuendo?
Forums
I am currently researching makeing a move from my PT LE rig to Cubase. I like the way PT is set up, I find it intuitive and easy to use. I can't stand the limiting and monopolisitic nature of Digidesign. Needless to say any change in my software choice will require a bit of learning curve.
Panning Issue
Forums
I have recorded drums into Cubase VST 5.1 via my M-Audio 1010, upon trying to mix these drums i find i am unable to pan. The snare, for instance, is on channel1, which is The Cards 1L Input. It is currently hard left, but when i move the pan control to the right the sound disappears.

Pro Tools or Logic Pro?
Forums
What is good on Powerbook 1.67GHz with 1.5/2 GB RAM? I want to use a lot of VST plugins like EWQL Silver/Platinum. (Oh! does Pro Tools have VST support at all?)
Also, do they use Logic in professional/commercial studios?

VMP 4000e
Forums
I just got a 4000.
Only had a chance to give it a basic tryout.
I'm really diggin' the Pad=0dB along with various combinations of the Deep/Flat and Air/Bright/Flat switches.
Deep with Air...knocked me on my ass!
My main vocal mic (ADK TT/CE)...all of a sudden went from great...to killer!

Searching for a volunteer for trying out my VST plug
Forums
Howdy
I have developed a free VST plug with Synth Edit. :)
It only works in a window host. Like eg Cubase or Wavelab.
It is a Compressor - Equaliser kind of a plug. Called JP22. ;)
It's main purpose is not to prove that Jp22 was right in his
argumentation about dynamics. :)
I know some of you on this forum sometimes uses soft plugs.
