for an 8 channel Pro Tools rig?

I've just purchased a Protools|24 rig with a 16-bit 888 interface. While its not the most current rig it is still a quality product and is compatable with the Pro Tools rig at the university i study at (I'm studying a degree in composition and production - to be a composer/producer, etc, etc).

I've finally narrowed my selections. I'm looking at either the UA 6176 or the Millennia Origin STT1 to add to my Focusrite ISA428. I do Gospel, Hip-Hop, Rap and R&B. Also the Soundelux Ifet7 was recommended to me in addition to my current SP C1, but for the money I was thinking about (2) mics the Sounddelux U195 and the AT4060 to have more options available.

this is something i recorded in my room. i used a RODE ntk1 mic, a dmp3 preamp and a spirit notepad mixer. i use Cubase sx.

If I got Yamaha S10's and a power amp would that make a big difference in mixng? Sometimes I feel i got a lot of low end and a kind of hi end but not seeing the true mids maybe as much I'm not sure. Do you guys think these are good enough for mixing Album quality stuff? - Aron

Has anyone tried the distressor with BRITISH MOD? I use distressor now sounds great but I'm wondering if BRITISH MOD IS A BIG DIFFERENCE? Im currently using nuke on the distressor for vocals and it's coming out pretty nice.

What recording lvl do professionals record into PRO TOOLS at 24 bit 48. Because when I record at 0 DB THE WAVE FORMS Are so big and blobby, But when I look at professional done projects before on Pro Tools the wave forms look small on the screen. - aron

Okay. Say someone owns a studio, and happens to not be making much money at the time, recording and producing. Sessions are few and far between. Say the owner is in debt, and any money he earns is already spent due to this.
