Hi, I am wondering WHAT KIND of mic preamp LINKIN PARK vocalist CHESTER is using and what type of compressor do you prosume. I know everyone should be original etc but I can't figure this out and theres no data on it anywhere, I dont want to copy it I just want to know how the hell they get that VOCAL sound its kinda WARM but kinda IN Your face i donno does anyone else?

I just got Roland Orzabal's (Tears for Fears)
custom built Guitar Effects Board built by PETE CORNISH in 1983.
It is in good condition.

I dont know anything about Pete Cornish, any info?
Is this a valuable item?

I'm having a very cool time getting some great flavours and textures out of that unit.I've never recorded such a wholesome bass before.Seriously this has put my recordings on a different level and all my clients walk away very impressed.
When's the Seb compressor coming out?

Since Pro Tools free is not available for Mac OS X. Are there any other comparable and free (!) audio applications for OS X out there?

I read in a past thread that the best order to finish tracks is the following:

1) Bring realtive track level up to -.1db

2) Down sample tracks to 44khz (with anti-aliasing)

3) Add dither noise and convert to 16 bit

I want to know how to make the (I call it) typical compression sounding on synchonisation (speech) of films or speech in radio stations ?

It sounds mid, very close and with no headroom left but without any breath or noise background (mostly).

Any comments ?
