This is my first post here and I'd like to ask a couple of questions..

Before posting I wanted to get a feel of the place and how people react to questions and opinions... so I did a search on a few items from Behringer to Xenon..

I would like to build some API mic preamp copies.

I found (8) API 2623-4 output transformers.

Question: which api can I build with these ?

Question: is $200 for (8) a fair price ?

I am familiar with both of these types of sounds, but I do not really understand what a Phazer is. I know a Flanger mimics tape flangeing. How can one explain what a Phazer is, and how it scientifically is different from a Flanger. Thanks in advance!

Considering purchasing an Eventide effects unit.
Especially considering use for vocals--vocal quality, flexibility--but will use for other instruments as well. Looking for quality sounds, flexibility. And value, of course, always matters somewhat.

Opinions on :

-Eclipse vs.
-DSP 4500/7000/7500 vs.
-H3000?

Has anyone heard what these mic preamps sound like?

I am in need of montors and I have been listening to the Fostex PM1 and PM2 and I must say that I really liked them.

Liked them better than both KRK V4 (which I must say that I hated, they sounded really plastic and boxy, also they were ugly to look at - anyone agree with me) and Yorkville blabla actives which I thought were sounding funny in the mids.
