Has anyone done this? We are starting an album project in a couple of weeks. Will be tracking on a Alesis HR24 but we would like to mix in the box on Cubase VST 5.0 The computer has a swappable IDE drive. Anyone have any solutions for this ? Thanks, Fats

If I'm mixing two distorted guitars, panned hard left and right, would I run into any problems (phase etc...) by busing them to a stereo master fader and applying EQ and or compression on the master instead of each gtr track? The only reason I would do it would be to save DSP.

Any thoughts?

I just started recording with a friend's old copy of Cakewalk Pro 9, but I have heard good things about Cool Edit Pro 2.0. Any comments? Which one is the best, or rather which one will be the easiest for a beginner to use well?

Is anybody here using PT HD2 with Pro Control or Control 24? If yes, what are your thoughts?
I am a Mix Plus & D8B combo user and I just don't know if upgrading to HD2 will give me as much DSP power as I get from the D8B...great automation, 2 FX, eq and comps on evry channel.

I have been playing guitar/using audio equipment for about 21 years. I have been recording (in some form) for about 14.

The only tubes I have ever had any experience with were the ones in our TV's when I was a kid. Our cat slept on top of the old console RCA because of tube warmth.
