My ANUS and Nuendo?

I am currently running Nuendo and have recently been taking on larger projects with more tracks. I noticed that my CPU meter in Nuendo is starting to peak out around 3/4 full and my program is running a bit slower. This usually happens when I run some power hungry effects such as the Waves stuff. So my question is, what is the best way to add more processing power to my PC?

Analogue vs. . digital mixing

I'm a digital daw kinda guy. I love editing audio and working with plugs etc. I love all that is good with digital...what PISSES me off about it all is mixing. It seems to take forever to get the mix happening, then when you get it, it's not quite there...there's something missing. Most stuff mixed on DAWs that I have heard has it. I don't want my stuff to have it any more.

spl dynamaxx

I recently discovered this interesting compressor and I'm thinking about getting one to use as an "add-on"-compressor for drums. I haven't had the chance to try one out yet, so has anybody used the dynamaxx and how did you like it ? The purpose as I said is not as a part of the recording channel but mainly for compression FX. Looking forward to any comments, thanx.

powerbookg4 / motu828 / propellerhead reason2.0

I am in the process of changing my studio over from simply analog to computerbased digital recording; using the powerbook G4. I am a newbie at this; I've decided to go with MOTU 828 Firewire recording system in combination with Propellerhead Reason 2.0. Just want to push a couple of mics and a guitar at this point. Any & all advise on this choice would be greatly appreciated.

Golden Room dimension?

I am trying to find some good guidelines on room dimensions for a drum recording/ mixing room. The actual structure I have a good feel for but where I'm stuck is what would be the best room dimensions for a basement - 7-8' ceiling.

I have read about golden dimensions but that doesn't seem to work with the ceiling height and maintaining a minimum room volume.
