Reading thru the "which DAW" thread and otherwise, I get the feeling there are a bunch of folks looking at the same question that's on my mind: whether to switch from Cubase to Samplitude.

I use Cubase 5.1, because I'm terrified of changing my OS and actually not totally convinced that the rest of my rig would be happy in XP.

A rather extensive question for those who might have the time/interest/inclination (of course I understand this seems too involved--I realize many here have more experince than I):

Maybe someone can help me out here. A long time back when I purchased my Cubase 3.7 Producer Pak from Steinberg I received, besides everything else, a copy of Waves Rennaisance Compressor. I installed it along with my other software and transferred the dll's into the VST Plugins folder, but I could never find it in Cubase. I finally ended up using a freeware plugin in its place.

Recently purchased some of these Lang lrp-1C's. Looking for mod info and if they sound good as mic preamp's? Still need to power them up. Also looking for Lang ES-1211 cards for the unit.

Hi! I have just bought a VST USB drive, from smart disk. It is the kit color USB model which is recoomended to perform loppy authorizations of TDM plugins for Pro Tools/Line 6 AMP farm.
The first time I launched the G4 800 quicksilver with the attached USB drive it appeared on the desktop but I was unavle to authorize stuff saying that

I am considering purchasing a multi-track recorder and so far, the Tascam seems like a good choice. Anyone have any ideas/experience with this? Thanks.

While I have the Mackies, I have not been too happy with the hyped sound and I had to return to my old NS 10s, However my Crown DC 300R amp is on the fritz and I had just repaired it last year.

There's a few things that I'd love to do that I've never seen pluginsfor.

1. A tape speed-variable type plug in. I want to have a part in a song where it gives the sound of starting off really slow, and speeds up the tape until it hits normal speed. Should sound much like using tape.
