powering and tuning my Yamaha ns10's... looking for good price to "clarity" ratio... thanks in advance!

so i just bought a brand new out of the box Alesis Multimix 8 usb power mixer and some brand new sure sm57 and 52beta mics (for recording drums). all in all i spent close to $900 on brand new equipment and when I plugin the 4 mics to the 4 mixer mic preamps and power it up and even switch on the phantom power, i get no responce or pickup indicators on the mixer.

Hey guys, I've looked around and I can't seem to find anything quite like this, so I figuered I'd ask and see if anyone has had this happen to them before. I've got a little Dell Desktop running XP media Edition, plenty of RAM, I think a 2.8g processor, with an original MOTU 896, NOT the 896 HD.

I've received Pro Tools 7.1- 44.1khz sessions that were recorded at 48 khz using a Mackie desk as the master clock.. As well the opposite way around. So if I don't have a clock to control it. it plays at slower or faster speeds.

Is there anyway to fix this so the session sample rate matches the the clock I'm using.

Hey guys, me and my band are trying to get some decent recordings for demos and whatever else. I've been reading up on here and some other sites and i can't decide what setup to go with. First off, i was thinking of going with a small 12 - 16 channel mixer and running it into my computer via firewire/USB into Cubase or some type of software.

hey i'm thinking about picking one of these cheapo's up. has anyone used them? what did you think? thanks.

Okay, so a while ago I was laying a track down on my guitar and then left it alone for a couple of months. I went to do some work on the track (after not even using my recording equipment for a month or so) and when I tried recording I realized EVERYTHING sounds like crap.

Can anyone give me a comparisson on these. I am trying out a pair of V88s right now and i am not 100% sure if they are the route i want to go. If anyone has anything in the same price range please let me know. I can get the V88s for $1200 for the pair roughly. Thanks

I have been looking into purchasing an existing music store business in Illinois. However, the stores that are or have been available are not what I am looking for and would cost more to liquidate than to start off fresh.
Where do I start in opening a brand new music store for the sale of instruments and pro audio. The real estate is not a problem.
