Wanting To Record A Demo
Forums
Hello, I am new to this forum and am hoping I can get some help. I sing with a gospel trio. We have a full live audio set up with a 13 channel board, powered mains, wireless mics, preamps , and monitors. We sing mostly with accompaniment tracks. I am wondering if there is an easy way to run a cable from our board through a computer to record, and edit a couple demo's?

Saving a track for clipping?
Forums
Is it possible to save a track that was already recorded at too high a level and has obvious clipping issues? I had some one bring in the wave files for a track for a mix down. There's a male vocal speaking and a male vocal singing.

Amp Sim for jazz guitar
Forums
Thanks to much help from this excellent forum, I am now achieving some great results recording my seven string archtop. I have bypassed the amp completely and am DIing through my very excellent Avalon U5 using both outputs and have a RODE NTK setup in front of the guitar (quite close in front of the pickup) with a Reflection Filter.

Help me start recording my own music...PLEASE
Forums
Hi all,
I'm new to this website (read through the forums for the past few days, and just signed up). I've been writing music for the past 11 years, and have worked with a couple of producers, but now I'd like to record and produce my own material. I have the following, equipment-wise:
- Yamaha Motif ES6 Synthesizer
- Marshall JCM 2000 100W Stack

Been trying to work out the PreSonus firepod for the last 3 months, but nothing worked.
Here are the symptoms :
Channel Strip or Preamp only
Forums
A channel stip has a preamp, EQ and Compressor, but would it be better to spend more money on just a preamp. I'm only really looking for one channel which is what i'll use to record vocals. R & B type of stuff.

Help with Recording Toms
Forums
I was just curious what techniques some of you guys use when recording and mixing toms. I usually record metal/ hardcore music, so the toms need a bit more attack than normal to be heard through the mix, but I end up with either a very flat sound or an overly bassy sound whenever I'm done. I can't seem to find a good medium.

Best Preamp for Audiobook Recordings
Forums
I don't mean to be a pest with all my questions, but I really appreciate all the great/useful answers I have received from you all recently!
I am starting to record audio books. I have a PR40 and a laptop and a very good sound room ready to go. From other users' comments, I now know that I need to get a good preamp for my recordings.

This is probably all going to sound trivial to some of you seasoned vet's, but I just need some advice on a gear decision...I need opinions on the Tannoy System15, The Tascam DM4800 digital mixer and the Yamaha 02R96 digital mixer...I'll explain.
