I am looking to buy 2 condensers to record overheads but will also work decent for vox. How would a pair of one of those mics work spaced? xy?

What about the recorderman technique? Large diaphram mics work allright for this application, or are small diaphrams better? If so, how do they work on vocals? Not as warm, am I right?

Here's What I have but what do I need?

Hello first of all this is my first post alothough I've been stalking this board for a while and there are many intelligent people on here who I feel I can learn a lot from. I am still rather new to the field of Digital Studio Recording although I try and read as many books as I can and put any available free time I have towards practicing on my DAW.

Stereo Delay. perception...how to fix it?

Hey, I have been mixing for over a year and I have run into not so much a problem but an annoyance. I mostly mix hip hop but this could apply to any genre. When I am mixing in background dubs for emphasis on key rhymes or punch lines I like to put a stereo delay on it. It gives the key lines a thick and wide feel.

home studio setup

Hello i own a fostex vf150ex recorder, peavey pv16 mixer, dbx eq, dbx compressor, and an bbe sonic maximiser. i'm planning on buying a few more things but i was wondering before i did this how can i set this equipment up for mixing and then how could i get it onto a computer. I thought of using a usb mixer as my mixing one and then recording the processed signal onto the computer.
