Since the subject has come up, I would like to throw this out as a general discussion on the aspects of the digital world we are now firmly a part of in the recording business.

Does having digital sculpting, digital autotuning, digitally enhanced instruments, modeling, in short any of these 'modern' devices, help you do your business?

Does it bring in MORE business?

When operating a PA system, occasionally people come up to me at the end of a programme and say that the overall sound was too loud.

Mostly I have to sit at the front of a hall fairly near to the speakers and it is difficult to get an idea of the overall sound.

Has anyone ever heard of this or tried this...

Use a gate that takes the volume of the snare for gating out all other drums on the room mics tracks... and then using this as an isolation to add in more room snare on top of everything else with out getting too much room sound on everything else (mostly toms / kick)

Im going to record conserts (rock and experimental), schoolchildren etc. and are looking for a stereo pair or stereo mic for this purpose. In the concert situation I will put up the stereo pair in distans and take the aux out from the mixer and then mix it at home. with the schoolchildren I will use XY.

8) Hi, guys! I just purchased a Tascam DM24 mixer for my studio... And I am wondering: Is there any way to get separate audio channels from this mixer and connect them streight to the computer or recording device? What I am talking about is not main stereo outputs, but separate ones. Thanks a lot!

If I had the money I would

grab a collection of vintage and new tube amps and cabinets and send the guitar to several of them with true tube distortion and mix it to perfection...

but I dont have that money...

It's been a long time since I've posted! That is a good thing though as many of our problems were corrected by the great info I received here!

Now though..we have another issue!

To the AHD24 users out there. What do you use to monitor when tracking a live event? It would be nice to have a rack mounted line mixer with solo buttons, but I don't know of anything like that out there. Any suggestions?
