Amazon Advantage new $99 annual fee!
Forums
Anyone signed up with Amazon.com's Advantage program for hard copy media distribution? I am officially done with these clowns. I just got an email yesterday stating that they have imposed a brand new $99 annual fee IN ADDITION the the 55% that they take, which can sometimes increase. So if you're owed $100 for CD sales for the year, Amazon will pay you $1. LOL! So what's the point?

Focusrite Red Pre thunderbolt design breakdown
Forums
came across this in an ad in my email. I like how the guy describes what the parts do, in sound guy terms. It kinda lends a tonal characteristic to things like resistors, where I'm usually like HUH? This thing looks cool.

Can I use stereo speakers with pro audio power head?
Forums
I posted in the forum before and received very helpful information so I'm going to give it another go. I have an audio rack with a mixer and other gear. My powerhead is a Peavey DPC-1000. I have a set of 3 way stereo speakers, like the kind that you would hook up to your stereo receiver for home theater. The speakers have the terminals for speaker wire connection.
I need an ad converter
Forums
I have a Yamaha 2404 console and need an ad converter with about 16 channels. Iv seen a lot of converters and audio interfaces but most only have 8 inputs or are very expensive. I'm looking for something that has around 16 line inputs, at least 2 outputs, and a way to connect it to my computer (MacBook Pro). I'm looking for something used so I can get it cheaper.

Spotting a counterfeit SM58
Forums
As a public service to RO and its potential visitors, I thought I'd research this topic and post a thread explaining the differences between real Shure SM58 mics and counterfeit models. In the last few years, a serious number of fake 58's have hit the global market. This isn't a myth, these fake mics are indeed out there, so here are some things to look for:

Should I go portable?
Forums
I've already bought a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 (4 preamps and USB) for £250 off amazon. I am still within my return window. Should I instead return that and get a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, second hand, off eBay for around £200, although it works out at around the same price due to the cost of a FireWire cable and the £25 FireWire to Thunderbolt adapter?

$99 pocket PC with W10
Forums
ive been on an electronics YouTube binge, and this little thing came up for a review. I compared it to its peers, and read a bunch of reviews, and it seems the base $100 is the best bargain. This thing is a full PC ! Not particularly fast 1.4ghz w four cores, but this is a perfect device to use for downloading updates, and file transfers, etc etc.
