Which PC interface to record acoustic guitar?

My friend wants to start using his PC for recording his acoustic guitar and vocals.
I told him to get an interface and then he should be able to download some free recording software that he can use with it.
He only needs about 2 tracks...no more than 8.
What products should I recommend to him?

will Cubase work or do I need a consol?

Hello I'm new to this, and hope you can help me out.
I have 2 questions.

1) How do I connect this. I have a Behringer (Yeah I know) SL3242 FX pro mixer, M-audio delta 1010 soundcard, Zoom RFX2000 Digital reverb and multi effect and Roland space echo 201. And a pentium4 computer with 600MB disk 1GB ram and Cubase sx2.

A Word Clock Cannot serve two Masters, "Innie" or

I'm waiting for delivery of an A/D card for my Focusrite Trakmaster which I will output via SPDIF to my Edirol DA-2496. I got the card cheap and want to experiment to see which converters are better. Yes, yes, I know I should have better preamps but I'm focusing on converters for the moment as that is what my current two options are.

Midas 320

Anybody have a Midas Venice 320?
I wanted to know what you guys paid for it.
I keep seeing that they sell new for around $5000
But a couple of web-site's I went to said "the Midas 320 can be had easily for around $3000 in the US"
I was wondering if that is true?
Or if someone can atleast direct me to a better deal that the $5000?

Audio books

Friends,

As you know, I am just doing my first treading in this field of audio engineering.
It is clear to me that I must start with reading a few books before I begin inquiring about gear or even going to a dealer to test gear. Someone like me does not necessarily know even WHAT to listen to in a mic or a monitor or converter.
