I've heard rumor of a cheap way to modify this microphone (change some of the soldering and a few of the cheaper circuits) to make this budget mic really perform... any one have any further insight into this?

Can anyone briefly describe the functions of the preamp controls and what they accomplish.

This question seems like it ought to have a simple answer, but I've had difficulty finding one.

If you connect a firewire hub to a firewire port on your computer, and then connect two firewire devices to the firewire hub, does that mean each device may only utilize 1/2 the bandwidth through the computer's firewire port?

hi guys. in the great scheme of things to get for my studio, i've come to the conclusion the pro tools rig should come last, as otherwise it'll be obsolete by the time i open. in the mean time i would like to use my imac g4 and 002. not ideal, i know, but i'm hoping with the right mics and pres i can get truely pro results on this setup for my own projects.
