Drum machines?
Forums
Hey guys,
Is there a drum machine out there that can sound human or at least as close to human as triggering drums? I can't play drums for crap, and don't want to hire a drummer. Would an Akai MPC be good for creating heavy metal drums?

Lets talk about Linux
Forums
I noticed that Linux has a kernel specialized for low-latency audio developed by the crew at Stanford University called “Planet CCRMA at home.” There is evidently quite a bit of audio/MIDI software developed for Linux. The most intriguing bit is JACK which is a low-latency audio server and transport control interface.

Recording piano with the AEA R84?
Forums
Hello Everyone,
I am wondering how some of you have fared recording acoustic (classical) piano with the AEA R84.
I would be grateful to hear your impressions.
I am considering buying a second R84 to record (classical) flute and piano together.
Thank you,
Peace,

Near Field Monitoring
Forums
I am not sure if I should post this question in this forum or not but here it goes... I record in my house (rock bands mostly, record in one room and mix in a section of a large bedroom) using a DAW with Nuendo 2.0 and a pair of NS10's with a Hafler power amp and gotten very good results at this point.

Pro Tracks Plus - Metronome
Forums
Hello,
I can't seem to get the metronome in Pro-Tracks Plus to work - at all. I read the help file and it says you need an internal pc speaker (which I don't have) or assign a synth sound or create a dummy track. What's the easiest way to implement this? Thanks in advance.

how far should my G4 PB 1gHz, 768 MB RAM, take me?
Forums
tracking is done. now, were cleaning up and doing some rough mixing on the PB using PTLE 6.4 with my HUI.
my PB is getting PISSSSED OFF, and it's bothering me ya know?
Using about 24 channel playback, with maybe 15 WavesEQ/Comp plugins working. only one reverb going in a AUX send. its quickly coming to a halt.

Baritone Guitars
Forums
hey ppl :D .. i was wondering what was so special about baritone guitars.. i understood that they have thicker strings, like 56-46-36-26W-17-13,but what means them having a bigger scale ? i dnt get that ..
do baritones have the same string tension like guitars in EADGBe ? even if,like the ESP Viper Baritone, they are in B-E-A-D-F#-B ?
