Just wondering if I should be putting some sort of extra gain control device with limiter function between the send from my mixer and my CD-recorder? I had something like the Behringer mic100 in mind, except I'd need two - one for left & right, right?

Any comments would be appreciated.

I'm very interessted to record in good quality a piano with a matched pair of KM184. I need only 2 channels, no D/A, no Midi - only good piano sound. My laptop: Centrino 1,5 XP, USB and Firewire Input.

Can anyone do searches? Everytime I try (or view post since last visit) all I get after several minutes of waiting, is a "DEBUG MODE" screen. I've tried this from several machine and get the same thing.

I am going to rebuild my studio, and instead of recoring everything through a digital recorder and then splicing them together in Cubase I want to record directly into cubase. I was wondering what I need and I need to get the equipment as cheap as possible and as soon as possible.

just curious how many maximum tracks i can record with a powermac g5, using either a dp 2.0 or a dp 2.5 with around 3 gigs of ram, i need to record live shows and was wondering if recording 24 simultaneous tracks would bog down the computer? thanks.

Hi, Ive been recording dj sets from my decks through an M-audio sound card into sound forge. Normalising, mastering, saving as 44, 16-bit, stereo and burning to CD. However i want to have an individual track number for each track in the mix. I cant seem to be able to insert track points on the file in SF 5. It burns as a single track 65 minutes lond. Can anyone help me with this please?

I'm about to complement my full-range monitoring with a pair of "groth-boxes", something to perform the function of Auratones and NS-10's. I'm not getting Auratones because I simply can't find a pair of them and NS-10's are getting waaay overpriced. So I need something to fine tune my mixes in, something that has the midrange-action of the Auratones.
