Mac RAM vs PC Ram? Which is more efficient?
Forums
I was wondering if anyone could validate this statement:
PC uses RAM more efficiently. What may be 4GB of RAM on a MAC G5 is equivalent to 2.5 maybe 3GB RAM on PC.
A friend of mine was trying to explain to me that the MAC does not use RAM as well.

Charging money for mixer level setup?
Forums
Just wondering... has anyone heard of charging money for periodically setting the levels on a mixer for live performance? I've become aware that since our church bought a Mackie 1402Vlz Pro mixer for the choir, they periodically pay someone to come in and set the levels. Not sure how much they get charged, but I think it's probably a fair bit. The reason I'm asking is twofold:

Help the clarity
Forums
Hi, I'm a newb to posting but have enjoyed what I have learned from reading. I hope you can help me. I have a small recording studio and we handle tons of cable t.v v/o's from tele-commuting voice talent. We've recently added one who has an odd quality to the sound of her audio, and I thought if I posted her chain here, you could give me some suggestions for her.

SM7 vs RE-20 vs ATM25
Forums
Hello,
I am looking for a nice dynamic for recording that will fit these roles:
1) Studio Voiceover
2) Kick/Bass cab
3) Intrument - Trumpet/Sax
I have a PreSonus Firepod for location work and a Firewire 410 for home use.
I listened to the Sennheiser. 421 and did not like it, so I came up with these three.

Will my computer handle 18 inputs?
Forums
I am planning to record a band live and I need a lot of tracks to cover every instument/vocal. I have a MOTU 828mkII soundcard that I`ve used for a coupple of months now. The MOTU is able to provide 18 inputs (10 analog in, 2 S/PDIF and 8 via A-Dat lightpipe) but I`ve only used it with the 8 analog inputs.

Sebatron or Focusrite?
Forums
Hi,
I'm planning on investing in a pro channel mic preamp with compressor, actually a dual channel so that I can do stereo miking. Right now, it's bascially between the Sebatron vmp-2000eVU and Focusrite ISA220.
I do mainly pop rock/acoustic pop and Indie. Anyone with any advice?

Recommendations needed!
Forums
Hey everyone I have been posting trying to found out info on a recording studio with no computer. I finally decided on going the computer route since it's cheaper and will give me waaay better results than the stuff I've been doing on the Boss BR-8 all in one porta studio. Well the question I have is this: What products and devices will I need to start off on a decent-sounding album?
