Newbie seeking advice on amplifying an indian hand drum

I am playing a 2-headed cylindrical indian hand drum called a pakhawaj. The skins are weighted with the "black spot" like a tabla. I am self taught, and play this instrument using fingering techniques that are more related to another south indian drum called a mridangam. The sound can be much more weighty than a tabla and has a really nice warm sound to it.

Choir recording

Ive have recorded a 35 voice choir with two spaced condensers with reasonable success (about 8 feet apart and about 10 feet back [due to space limitations I cant observe the 3to1 rule on the stage]) although I needed to add synthetic reverbs . Im recording them again this weekend and The actual church reverb is beautiful so my question to you is.

Comparable Interface to Aardvark Pro Q10 but smaller

I have a couple Aardvark Q10's that I am pretty happy with. For a different location I would like to set up another computer running Sonar with two inputs (just for overdubs.) What I would really like is a sound card with two XLR ins and mediocre built in pres in addition to two 1/4" inputs that I can plug a nicer Pre like my RNP into.
