Where is it supposed to be in the signal chain? I have a Digidesign 002 and I'm trying to improve the quality of my recordings. What would be a big step up from the 002?

Recently Ive Been Upgrading My Low Budget studio, Long Story Short... I Have an XML 990 Condenser Mic Running to a Behringer Eurorack UB802 Mixer, Which Runs to My Audigy Sound Card... I am stumped with the hi-lo-mid frequencer tuner For Vocals, I can get the vocals to sound Decent But I'm tryin to get any idea of how i should set the freq, Volume, ETC!

How are these outboard recorders w/multi tracks software like below? There are couple I looked at online below.
The Digidesign comes with Pro Tools SE. I have the cheapest of the cheap. .SB LIve and Power Tracks Pro now. I wanted to get more Plugins so rather pay that cost someone suggested just get entire new software.

I'm new too using this kind of program and i cant seem too get it too record anything. Im hooked up (Yamaha psr 292 keyboard)via ux16 midi to usb cable. the program just doesnt seem too want to record anything i do. I may be an idiot i dont know but i just got this program and have never used anything like it before so I'm a completely lost neewbie too this.

Anyone have any experience of these consoles? Are the preamps good? EQ? Are they quiet or noisy being valve?

Hey all, this is my first post and I have an important question. I have Pro Tools LE 6.7 w/ Mbox on a mac. I am wondering if there is any way to create a bass line or other musical parts (guitar, violin etc) in Reason (came with it Adapted for PT) or Live (also adapted). I have only figured out how to use the drum machine in Reason.

I have already a preamp (Behringer Ultragain Pro),
a condenser mic (B-1),
pc and sound card.
I want to invest on a compressor to be able to record "something"right...
i dont want to spend a fortune i just want to get something to do my "job-hobbie" which one do you suggest?

I just set up my PC for recording, however when I try to record a track in Pro Tracks Plus, the riffs sound great through the monitors during recording, but during playback the recorded audio snaps, and skips horribly. The recording levels are in the green with no red, and the drivers are set up correctly. This is my first attempt at this so I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong.

My son has a Pro Tools LE setup with Reason Adapted installed. We are buy the full version of Reason 2.5 tomorrow (I know 3.0 is out soon, but this was only $199 at Guitar Center).
