M-Audio Axiom 88
Picked up an M-Audio axiom 88 yesterday and I'm in love with it. The hammer actions keys feel amazing. They are so close to the feel of my actual piano. The pads aren't amazing but they do what you need them too. But the biggest perk is being able to control your daw with the faders and knobs on the Axiom, it really had helped with work flow.

record a piano, Omnis and MS
Hi. This my first post here. Greetings to all forum members.
I have two plans to record a piano. The first is a recording with two omnidirectional microphones with an AB spaced pair (noc -1 wav) 1,50 mt until piano . The second is the same with an MS pair in the center of the piano, close to the harp, about 0.35 mt (noc -2 wav).

Converters or preamps?
Later this year I'll be looking to upgrade either of those items. Because my needs have changed, I'm only interested in 2-track (or stereo) converters or preamps. I've no need to record a full band all-at-once in a large studio room.
The convo/preamp will be used for vocals, acoustic guitars, brass/woodwinds, etc.

Getting started with home recording
hello all,
new to the forum, and new to the world of home recording.
let me get this straight : i am a big geddy lee fan (bass player and signer of rush) - what i am basically trying to do is to reproduce his sound. (i know it's impossible - but at least i have some "fun" trying to).

Portable recorder for recording ambience/effects/wind noise? Some foley advice?
I need a portable recording device for some light foley work where I would need to be outdoors or mobile. Sounds include banging and slamming sounds that would be dangerous to record indoors, ambient sounds like nature, rain, or speech in a social setting, and the sound of wind rushing.
Prism Atlas
Love this so far. Its an 8 channels ADDA/pre combo, USB and works great.

Fairly new to online recording. Clipping issues.
Hello Masters of the Craft,
I have read through your boards for the past few days and though, maybe, you can help me.
I am not a recording star of any significance and do not profess to know ANYTHING about recording. I just sing online for fun and therapy.
That being said, I recently graduated from my Microsoft Headset mic to a condenser mic and interface.
Everything is really quiet
Hey guys! I am using my ~6-months-old Dell, Windows 8 laptop, a couple-years-old Lexicon Alpha, and what I think is a fairly nice Electo-Voice microphone. I was doing some basic recording in Audacity, and it was working, except that the tracks recorded really quietly. When I tried to bring them up to normal volume, there was a large amount of background static.

Bagpipe player wanted
Looking for someone to record two bagpipe phrases for a song of mine.
I just read a thread about bagpipe recording so maybe this is the right place to look, as I don't know anyone who plays or even have one.
In exchange I can mix, compose, track guitars, bass, keys, etc for you. if anything fails, i'm willing to pay for your service
thanks!
