I recently purchased a MOTU 896 and a 1.5GB Powerbook/Logic Pro 6. I've done a few recording with the 8 Analoque ins and I'm really happy with the sound. Yesterday I tranfered some tracks from a Fostex D-90 via lightpipe (tracks 9-16) and I noticed that the 8 Analoque tracks could still be activated and used for recording.

Hi, after weeks of planning i am finally ready to record my first live kit, ive been recording vocals and guitars for around three years now, thing is i have always used sampled loops or drum machines for the drums.

Why use a control surface when you can use the controls inside the rec software? is there anything different?
May be it's a stupid question!

I just recently this past weekend started a new company online where underground artists can get their albums heard and possible sold at a central location or store. Its at http://www.underground-albums.com and I started it to see how good it will do.

I am at my wits end. I recently upgraded my sound card and hard drives and am having trouble while recording. The palyback is stuttering and skipping while additional tracks are recording. This happens even with one track playing back and one track recording so it does not appear to be a cpu issue. When playing back without recording, it is fine.

Ok I've got a dilemma. I have a Tascam FW-1884 which can now be used as a control surface for Pro Tools LE (with HUI emulation). I can use the pre's on my FW-1884 and send them through ADAT optical into a Digi 002 rack. Now. it would be nice to have 4 more pre's that the 002 would bring to the table. I'd have another piece of software to screw with, and the Pro Tools name on my gear list.

After much debate, I finally broke down and bought Digital Performer 4.5 and Trilogy bass synth for MIDI composing / virtual instruments the other day. Both are quite amazing.
