I just moved to St. Petersburg FL and need to buy some new monitors for my studio here.

I have not found a decent shop so far ( the best Sam Ash had to offer were the Mackie 824)

Anybody knows a shop with a good monitor selection?

Downloaded the demoversion of Sony Oxford Inflator today out of curiosity and...man...I really don't know what to say...total madness ! Can anybody please explain to a guy who thought he knew how things work what this plugin REALLY does ? For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it basically is a loudness plugin .

Interested in getting a good/good enough 8 channel preamp for a front end for my MOTU HD192 interface. I have about 500-700 dollars to spend. I need 8 channels minimum. I would prefer a stand-alone rackmount with 8 channels but if I have to individual 2 channel modules are acceptable. What can someone recommend? Thanks.

I'm looking for a pair of desent headphones no more then $100 australian. i want closed dj/monitering headphones for computer use. any suggestions would be great. i was thinking of getting the SONY MDR-V150 headphones. dont hold back on comments good or bad. thanks

What do I do first? I got m-audio firewire and I guess i'l use the reason adapted, I'm an old reel-to-reel guy and would like to put my old stuff on CD.But I just dont get this new digital gear.
You know it looks easy, the reason mixer board... But how do I get it to talk to the m-audio hardwear?

I'm looking for an 8 channel preamp with an ADAT optical out. The only two that are in my price range are the PreSonus Digimax LT and the M-Audio Octane. Does anyone have any experience with either? I can't afford the Focusrite Octopre or Digimax 96 otherwise I'd go with those.

Every dollar counts! I just did a weekend of vocals with an Avalon 737 sp and the 7600 (both borrowed). API won hands down for me. The vocalist is extremely dynamic, and it was so easy to get transparent results from the compressor. Nice & warm as well. So. anybody know where the best deal is, pretty please?
