As I read through the remarkable posts on these forums by so many industry veterans and the wealth of knowledge of professionals I can't but wonder your thoughts on what a GREAT record means anymore.

I was realy blown away with the sound quality of the sounds from the Yamaha Motif ES series while visiting GC this past weekend. Has anybody had any trouble or would not recommend this keyboard? I'm a little skeptical when I hear nothing but "excellent" reviews about a product, it makes it hard to believe.

Looking for a new mic purchase primarily for vocal use. At the moment I'm stuck with a RODE NT1 and a CAD M179. They're ok but I'm ready to take the next step up. My current preamp is a Joemeek VCQ1, Mackie XDR, and i've just ordered the RNP & RNC combo.

I recently asked a question about the Buzz MA 2.2 and Millennia HV-3 for recording of acoustic based music (with vocals) on another forum. From my limited experience, which is essentially with Lynn Funston's Pre CD, I found the Buzz to be warmer/less open than the HV-3. I like the clearer more open and transparent sound of the HV-3.

New to the list, first post, heard about the group via Ethan Winer's excellent homepage. I'm a violininst, I study at the conservatory in Copenhagen, and besides that I enjoy myself in my little home studio.
