Hi. This is my first post. This site is AWESOME! Well, here goes. I am a recent transplant from ADATs to the DAW world using Sonar. My quest is to master Antares Auto Tune plugin . I have read some posts that discussed whether or not people like it, but not much was mentioned about parameter settings or technique. Question #1; which is the better way to use it, automatic or manual mode?

Maybe a silly tech question, but.

If I track to a RADAR24, then import those files via T/DIF to Logic on the PC to edit, etc,. then out again from the PC, again via T/DIF, back to the RADAR24 ready for mixdown, will the tracks suffer any loss of quality or sound degradation at all?

What do you guys think about the mic preamp's, what are they like in comparation to the aardvark q10's?

And if anyone's got a fw-1884, I would appreciate any other info.

Does anyone here have any experience in regards to replacing the Sovtek 6922 tubes in an NTK with a "better sounding" type?

I switched the two XLR inputs on my 1010LT to line levels and have them connected to a sub mixer for my drum toms and overhead mikes. The snare and bass are connected to two of the regular RCA analog inputs through a separate mixer. Now when I record I'm experiencing latency between the snare & bass inputs and the sub mixer inputs.

Hello all. I just picked up a Kurzweil K2000. and was wondering if someone could tell me how to find out how much ram it has (I know it can be maxed to 64meg) How big is the hard drive? Software is 3.54J There is no fan installed on the bottom,so I assume the sampling option has not been installed.Thanks for any input! (There were no manuals) Peace. Barefoot

Im looking to pick up a 421 on ebay but was wondering if anyone has opinions on whether the older models are better than the newer ones.

Excuse my ignorance, but I own 2 mic preamp-amps, an ART Tube MP and a Studio Projects VTB-1 and on both units there are levels for input and output.
usually when recording I set both input and output
at 12:00 o'clock. Is this a good idea, or are there some hard, fast rules for these settings?

Please forgive me for having posted a similar question on the mastering forum, but I want more folks from this forum to offer input. I have been recording a guy singing and playing guitar and have some phase problems. He is not able to perform guitar and vocals separately as would be ideal.

I'm wondering which is easier to configure in general with most host applications. I know that PTLE tends to require more steps and more behind the scenes type of prep to get going than a Mac. Is this true with others as well (Samp, Sonar, Nuendo, Cubase, etc)?
