I was wondering... after what length of cable would a signal (lets say from a microphone) start to weaken or loose its quality?

Hi I got the Ardvark q10 and Sonar 3 studio edition. I didnt know what to expect since I'm all new to this but ive gotten a good grasp on a lot of it already. What I wanted to ask was this. I want to record live drums which will be outside in a garage. My cpu set up is in a room in my house about 30 feet away.

What is your prefered reproduction system?
what are your experience with different systems?

I've spent most of my life hearing music and learning about diffenrent systems, and very intence the last year because of me starting as mastering engineer.

I can say that what I've come up with now is the best sytem I've ever had, but no system is perfect :)

I tried this in the Biz section but didn't get any bites. Anyone here have any thoughts?

I need to transfer 7G of audio from a mac to a PC which would otherwise take up 15 or so CD's because of long files which don't split easily.

Is it possible to burn DVDs on a mac which can then be read by a PC. Will the PC need additional software to read a mac DVD. My mac is compatible with DVD-R. Do PC's generally need DVD+R or is there flexibility?

My dear and beloved Leslie 760 has begun fizzling and humming in the midrange and above. I have pinpointed the problem to a dying treble driver, a Jensen V21 - original. According to various internet sources the stock driver is not very capable of high volumes, so I have decided to switch to another brand. What do you guys use in your leslies? RCF? Atlas? JBL? Which model?

I've been looking for a good clean musical sounding mixer for a home studio. My budget is about $500-600. I'm leaning toward a Soundcraft Spirit M8. Anything better that I might find used for a similar price? Thanks.

tHE WIRELESS EXPERIMENT SEEMED TO WORK VERY WELL BUT, I'm concerned that radio frequencies may mess up the recording.

Are recording studio's using wireless headphones?

After listening to Roger Waters "Amused to death", I found the site and bought the plugs but I can't get anything placed as far back as the CD or the demo on the site for that matter. Am I missing something stupid or was this just too good to be true?

I just got me a new box! p4 2.6gHz asus p4s800, havent tried serious audio yet, as I need to get my studio together down under here.
