Welcome RecorderMan as a new mod for this forum.

RecorderMan is going to mod this forum now instead of the Producers forum. He is definitely suited for this area so at his request, he can call this home now! He will be replacing Dave McNair. Dave has been gone from RO for over (I think) 3 months, (can't get a hold of him :( ) and because I haven't heard from him I'm assuming he's stepping down. Thanks Dave ! and hope all is well.

New comp with MSI + SiS

I just built a P4 system around an MSI 645E-MAX for somebody as a high performance gaming rig. This is one smooth mobo. Excellent bios control. In combo with Mushkin PC2400 2-3-3 DDR, and a Western Digital special edition 80GB 7200rpm 8meg buffered drive, I have to say, performance seemed very brisk. I'm going to build another for myself with this $85 mobo as a DAW and see how it compares.

So - Which P4/Mobo Combo Works ?

Was almost swayed over to the AMD side & the Asus A7V333 w/the Via KT333. Seems to have a lot of problems now.

Then I thought I'd go the P4 route - but the mobo I thought was best is now getting hammered on another thread.

Plz help this rookie! Mackie 24/4 into Layla into Sonar/Cool Edit Pro - running on XP Home (or 2000?)

perfect laptop for SONAR/CW9.03 + Digigram VXPocket v2

Hello, and sorry for such an abstract question, but:

if you had experience with running SONAR and/or
Cakewalk 9.03 on laptop for live and recording
sessions, could you please let me know:

1. is there a "perfect" laptop from major manufacturers like
Sony (vaio) or Toshiba (satellite) that works flawlessly
with SONAR/CW?
