Ouch...pretty expensive setup here but want to know what you guys think of this setup...

Hello, and sorry for such an abstract question, but:

if you had experience with running SONAR and/or
Cakewalk 9.03 on laptop for live and recording
sessions, could you please let me know:

1. is there a "perfect" laptop from major manufacturers like
Sony (vaio) or Toshiba (satellite) that works flawlessly
with SONAR/CW?

OS 10.2 is now available. It has a lot of new features, and appears to have been worth the wait.

They mention to do the following

1) Disable all shadow features(what the heck is that?)
2) Disable onboard sound cards. Will these acutually cause trouble? I like to use the onboard for listening to mixes. Sorta like the car stereo type thing. But if this is really a potential for problem, I should ditch it.

If anyone has experience with the Mackie SDR2496 and/or Alesis HD24, could you please let me know what you think of their sound quality? Also, is the device stable? Does it crash occasionally? If you've used both, which one do you like better? Any advice will be helpful and appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi! My subject pretty much sums it up. I've been using AT 4041's for this application but thought I'd like to try a LD condenser and since I already own 1 4033 I was thinking about picking up another and trying them instead. Any of you folks using/have used 4033's in this manner? If so how do you like them as drum OH mics? Thanks very much in advance!

Whenever I try to uninstall a program, it say's it can't find INSTALL.LOG. However if I move install.log to another directory then the install starts and asks me where install.log is and I browse to it. Any ideas? My quess is that more some reason install isn't finishing.. Like a service that is required by installer isn't running. Run Once? I don't know..
