bounce quality question
Just curious about your opinions on bouncing quality: Is the sound of the resulting bounced file exactly the same? I've noticed some difference between a single real time effected file and the resulting bounced file after applying DeNoiser. Haven't experimented too much, but it was noticeable the first time.

Firewire/USB PCI card for Power Mac 9600?
Can someone recommend a combination firewire/usb card for my Power Mac 9600/350 upgraded with a Newer G3 500/250, OS 8.6?
I'm pretty sure I'll have to upgrade my OS to at least 9.04, or even 9.1
I'm using a Pro Tools Mix Plus system. Will my PCI bus be overloaded if I install a PCI firewire/usb card?

Plastic heads for 32" bass drum
Hello again,
Can anyone recommend any promising plastic heads for a 32" birch bass drum?
I have FiberSkyn, and it's a disaster.
I also have some nice Kalfo calf heads coming, which are by far my preferred choice.
Nonetheless, weather does not always permit, so for the road in the rainy season I'm so far looking at Pinstripes and Remo coated white heads.

60" calf or elephant heads?
Howdy folks,
I'm on a quest just now for heads for a 60" Lefima bass drum.
The FiberSkyn and variants are out of the question.
Real hides that someone once lived in are in order.
Unmounted is fine, but they'd need to be at least 66".
There's an art to making one drum head out of multiple hides. Anyone have a line on that nearly lost art?

Hip-Hop Mixes - I'm starting to turn down the Low End..
Lately in my (hip hop ) mixes I've been finding myself EQing down the low end on the kicks and basslines (Instead of boosting, which one would assume hip hop would call for?). Even after I remove all the "muddy" frequencies.
A Question for DAvid Maynard
I noticed you mentioned you are using Ozone on Sonar for mastering, while your brother is using Digi 001. I am curious to know what pluginsyour brother is using and what kind of projects you are working on, also any observations about the two systems you might have (i'm using Pro Tools LE on PC). Cheers, Doc.

bass boost proximity effect?
I am having a little trouble understanding the cancelling of high frequencies due to closeness of directional mics to the sound source. what's the relation between high freq and it's wavelenghts coming from 0 degrees cancelling at the mic diaphragm? and why does the dual capsule omni mode exhibit so little effect?

Sound replacment on major rock records?
So are most of the drummers for these bands EXTREMELY accurate and consistant or is it common practice to add kick and snare samples? ( i know terry date does) Where do you normally find good samples and how do use them? Generally when you use a sample do you not rely on the original at all or do you pick something that will compliment what you have and lay it under the original.

Tascam US224
Opinions on the Tascam US224? Is it a substitute 4 Duo, Mona, or Audio2446? Any real strengths or weaknesses? I am new at this and am trying 2 crank up my 2000 PC with my Technics KN 5000 Keyboard. I do not yet own an Audio Card or a Midi Interface. All suggestions r welcome!
Thank u 4 your help.

Irritating mouse problem (Mac).
Hey everybody,
This is my first post at RO, so I'll stick to something that should be simple. I just can't seem to get to the bottom of it no matter what I try (and it isn't like I'm new to computers or anything). : )
