Got a killer song you want mixed?
…A gazillion times? I am looking for a song and production to mix. The catch is, a bunch of people are going to do mixes on it besides me.
If you have a song that you would like mixed, and it’s a killer song, put up a URL to an MP3 so that we can listen to the song. I’m locking the topic after the first 20 submissions, so don’t put it off until tomorrow.

What makes a great arrangement?
I feel that the arrangement is probably the most important parts of the actual mix. So what makes an arrangement great? What sort of things happen in a great arrangement? More importantly, what sort of things can we do as mixers to make an arrangement great?
I think that if we can figure this one out, we'll be half way to great mixing. So help me out.

More Hardware recommendations... :)
Ok, another question.
At present, I am considering a P4-based DAW with an Echo Layla and Nuendo. Someone recommended I go with an RME card, preferrably with an ADAT converter.
I am curious to know what that is/does, and, if the Layla is lacking in some way, what other cards could/should I consider.

summing buss headroom / floating point
With another thread brought up regarding the sh*tty sound in pro-tools...I was left thinking today as I sat at a contol-24 - Playing with the 7k mouse, I started to dwell upon the premise of that the only sound of pro-tools (other that converters and plugs)is the summing math of the software.

Drive array to vs. . -880ex
I recently purchased a used HP 6000 scsi se drive array for backing up live performance recordings. It currently has 7 4.3 gig non hot swappable drives. So far I haven't been able to get the roland to recognize the array. Each drive has its own id #, the roland is "0" and so on. The array is terminated. Any suggestions on getting the two together or am I shhotin in the dark.

Without wishing to intrude.
I understand that this forum is really for the pro's, but I couldn't find anywhere else which seemed suitable, so I hope you will forgive me.
Like many other amateurs I follow this forum closely and try to pick up any advice, comments and suggestions and to learn from them. One idea that I haven't seen put into practice (if it has been details would be appreciated) is as follows:

Euphonix converters
Hi all,
Just wanted to get some opinions of Euphonix users about those 24/96 converters, especially the ADC-to-MADI version...how do they cut soundwise in comparaison to Apogee's or RME-ADI-96?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers
Benoit
