OK after a week of research and talking to a few friends in IT this is the motherboard and cpu that I will be getting.

Well basically it is a workstation mobo that is priced just low enough form me to get into that class and also because it is a good one.

USB or MADI 32 channel converters are coming at a more affordable price.

Up to now, I've been recording (and mixing) straight onto a Teac A3340S R2R and then transferring onto my laptop via an Emu 0404. I'm using Audacity once the music is in my laptop. I know this is far from a professional setup but it works for the type of projects I do.

A few weekends ago I went to a rock concert with some buddies in a small basement club. The music was pretty good, but really loud (and no, I'm not an old fart complaining about the music being too loud, I'm 23 years old). I don't understand why they have to turn the band up so loud?

Quick question about my my home recording computer. I have had a few posts on here asking for advice about hardware for a studio, but this is just for my home setup. Where I personally record.

My Setup is:

I haven't exported a project to OMF in quite sometime, and was just now attempting to do so in Sonar so that a pal of mine, who works with a Mac ( Logic, to be precise) can open it.

The project is in two parts, a live recording of two sets, each set was tracked at 44/24, 6 tracks, 55 min in length.
