I Need help with PreSonus StudioOne Artist DAW. 1st post by NooB.
First, I am a home recording dummie. I am an old guy who has been playing guitar a long time, and have been fascinated by recording, but have done very little of it. I am one of the many who would like to go into a studio, sit down with an engineer and record.
Electric Guitar Pre-Production: Getting a Sound for a Metal Mix
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this. It seems there are other threads of this type here, so...

Black Lion PM8 summing mixer with Lynx Two A
hey guys,
i just bought a BLA PM8 to use with my 4 in / out lynx card and have a few questions in regards to how I set it up. Given that I have always worked inside the box I never had any experience with consoles.
Would I connect the BLA PM8 only when I am exporting my mix? Would I benefit at all from monitoring from it?

I'm about to buy a Sony PCM-D50 as this seems to be about the best quality-wise in my current price range, and I'll be recording at 24 bit 96kHz (and playing them back on my high-endaudiophile hifi).

Critique Heavy Metal Guitar Sound
This is a rough mix, and right now I am working on the guitar sound as well as just writing music. I previously recorded about five songs just using a direct method, and that sounded pretty good except I had to do A LOT of EQ work on the back end.

Connecting a third screen to a mac G5
I currently have a mac G5 with two video screens connected, running Logic Pro. Of course there is never enough screen space and I would like to add a third monitor. The two I have are connected to a video card with two identical connectors on the back, no problem there. To add a third monitor, I am assuming I need another video card.
