I have a delta 66 which is a pci interface that I use on a pc desktop. But often I seek mobility to record shows or even stuff on the road. Would you recommend using a zoom h4 for these applications? Would the quality be comparable to my interface using an external preamp with the analog ins of the h4?

If you are mixing down individual riffs and phrases for an audio program in which the user could select a guitar or keyboard part etc. to mix into their music, how warm do you want the levels?

Do you normalize it so it peaks at or almost zero db? Or would you want to leave several db headroom? Any input from you pros greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If i am sending my guitars to an aux channel with a compressor plugin on via a bus should my Aux Effects channel be a stereo channel or a mono
channel? If stereo and i have 2 mono guitars should each guitar be sent on a differnet bus to the stereo Aux with compressor on and then route that Aux to the group stereo bus?

I'm new to running sound. I have this board and I need to run subs, mains, and monitors. Any info about how to work with it would be greatly appreciated. I'm just looking to absorb any knowledge anyone has about this mixer and how to run it for live sound.

Hello everyone! This is my first post on the forum. After doing some research, I've come to you guys for some help in finding quality equipment that won't break the bank. I already HAVE a set up, but need to take it up a notch. I have a friend whos an audio engineer.

I am looking at buying an ADAT preamp rack to connect to my Digi 002 as i now need more preamps as am constantly patching cables.
I need something that has 8 Mic/Line inputs and have looked at the PreSonus digimax D8 but it has 8 XLR inputs (On the rear) and only 2 line inputs on the front panel. I really need a unit that has 8 line and 8 XLR inputs.

I bought a few of these effects years back (like 2002) and still use them today. They aren't the hottest thing on the block, but they are good effects that get the job done - when the job fits.
They are clean, efficient, with great interfaces that provide excellent feedback
The multiband compressor is great for surgical work - attacking a very specific frequency range.

I myself, despite six degrees of separation, know of at least one gold selling album (US) recorded and mixed completely ITB in a small bedroom in Marina Del Rey. I can vouch for it. I was there for a good week while it was being done. The only outboard that was used was in the front end, AFAIK.

My friend recently upgraded his Native Instruments Guitar Rig from 4 to 5.
He is using Cubase 6 everything is 64 bit. He loads the GR5 as a VST plugin on an audio track for his guitar.
