m-audio fast track mkII high-pitched noise

Hi to everyone!

I'm getting a bit annoyed by the constant presence of a low high-piched noise every time I plug an instrument to my M-audio fast track mkII. every time I playback audio or use Sonar 8.3.1 to record, I hear this noise which would be bearable if only it DIDN'T get INTO the recordings!

Need comments about my Name idea

I was going to release some music and was going to use the name BiPolar Express, because my stuff is a varied mix. I locked down the domain name and copyright for myself, but some people are saying it is maybe insulting to people. I am not a punk band, am mainstream so don't want to upset potential listeners/customers. What do you think? Is the name insensitive?

Portable recording device with playback while recording new track (w/without overdub)

Hi everyone, I am new here. I am looking for something like the Zoom H4n / H2 that I can use as a portable recorder, but also plug into a PC and use as a USB mic. I would also like to be able to play back a track on the device and record a new track without overdubbing.

If anyone is good at pitch-correcting vox, and wants to make a few bucks

Hi,

An acquaintence of mine found a vocalist for his band, and apparently this guy is like most pop stars today, and can't sing in key. So, they are in need of some pitch correction. I have neither the time nor the patience, so if anyone around here has the tools and the know-how, and wants to make a few (and I do mean a few) dollars, send me a pm.

Recording Project

I'm very new to the world of audio recording. I've done some basic voice recordings using some decent usb mics and Adobe Soundbooth 4 as well as Acid Studio 8. However I have a new project idea to capture a voice recording in an open space (hall, church, etc). I want to try to capture both the voice and the echo in two separate "layers" is that possible?
