Hi. I just bought a new Canon EOS 5DIII and am setting it up for video. I want to do some short nature/wildlife video clips and capture the ambient sound as best possible.

I am a student musician (mostly in concert music) and I have compiled some recording equipment, through gifts and hand-me-downs. I am running Cubase LE 4 on an old HP PC. I have an Alpha USB Pre-amp. I also have an old analog mixer, and old speaker and woofer, a keyboard, a guitar and amp, my woodwinds, and two microphones.

I'm starting a home recording studio. i am going to purchase a 16 channel usb mixer and a decent microphone.
my qyuestion is, do i need to buy a power amplifier to connect to the mixer or can i record without the power amp?
help will be greatly appreciated

Hello hello. I'm a home recording newb, and just getting started. I was hoping to learn many things over the years as things went along, but I've run into a brick wall already. A problem I just haven't been able to resolve, or find a satisfactory answer too. So I just want to pitch this out there for whoever may be able to help, or at least get me pointed at the right resources.

I was wondering if there are any KORG Kronos owners out there and if they could share their opinions/thoughts on it since I'm thinking of getting the 88-note version for home recording and live use.

Hi, This is my first ever forum thread anywhere on the net.

Basically here's my issue:

I have had my 2i2 audio interface for about a month now and have been getting to grips with some recording (I am using reaper).
However I am unable to get rid of the latency. According the the Asio Configuration the input latency is 11.3 ms and the output is 16.3 ms.
When I try reducing the buffer length it results in popping and clicking.

I was out today recording natures sounds and in some parks where people were. I have just started recording outdoors and I got a few looks from people. I wasn't interested in recording any ones conversation, just the sounds of life in general. Like people in a park having fun.

I'm totally new at this, and need some recommendation.

As a test, I shot a conference with a camcorder that saved the file as .MOV (MPEG-PS = MPEG 224 + AC-3) and also recorded the sound with an independent digital recorder that saved the file as WAV.

So I need to remove the soundtrack from the MOV file, insert the WAV, and try to sync both.
