M-Audio Fast Track, acoustic guitar direct in, and Garageband
Tips/Tricks? I have a Martin with a fishman pickup. Maybe if I could just start there? What are some ideal pick up settings for recording? On the M-Audio I have the gain up to about 9 o clock. Anything below that and the sound is just too thin. But the downside is that I clip when I go to pluck the lower strings with any aggression at all.
Tips for newbie ...M-Audio Fast Track mkii plus Fishman guitar pickup
So I recently purchased the M Audio Fast Track (mkii) to do some home recordings of my acoustic guitar. I'm plugging directly in to the interface and using Garageband to record. I've done a few test recordings which sound semi-decent but everything is just a little thin and chords don't sustain very well. CAn I adjust something through the guitar pick up to get ideal sound?

stereo doubling question
When I record my songs, I double the guitar tracks, or what is needed to be doubled anyway.
When mixing, with my headphones on, it sounds great. it sounds how it is supposed to sound. however, when I listen to it without headphones, the guitars clash.
Without the doubling, the rhythm guitar tracks sound too "dead center". It makes it very thin sounding.

Acoustic Guitar Recording Nightmare!
I am trying to record my Martin D28 through a Mackie 1604 VLZ mixer into an M-Audio Delta 44 PC interface and onto Sonar X1. Until now (Midi and other audio sources) I have had ZERO problems. That is, until I tried recording an acoustic song that I've been working on. My low "C" on my guitar (Finger picking) fills the mix with a "BONG" sound.

popping/clicking on bass track akai sampler
Can somebody else with an akai sampler (s950) please tell me why I am getting popping and clicking sounds when I assign my bass sound to an individual output? I tried adjusting the key filters and other settings on the envelope but no luck. It's really holding back my progress. I thought it was my recorder but turns out its not. Thanks in advance for the input.

I want an M-S mate for my Beyer M160
I'll keep this brief...
I lost a Beyer M130 and 1 of 2 M160's I have owned for several years. It happened in a bizarre way that makes me sick to even think about.

Thank You Universal Audio
I just got an email from UA. I don't think they intended it to be shared with everyone otherwise there would have been a weblink. I just wanted to share the gist of the email. Essentially they were letting UAD-1 and UAD-1e users know that as of the next update to UAD drivers, the UAD-1 and UAD-1e cards will no longer be supported. Nice though that they are offering a generous trade in option.
