The mastering compressor has extraordinary functionality, and also provides mastering grade compression and limiting for tracking and mixing. Essentially it is two compressors in series, per channel, that can act in stereo, or dual mono. Lookin to finally get my studio together n wanted some basic knowledge on a good mic n preamp. also does it make a big difference between audio boxes with usb or fire wires? i have a 13' macbook pro n will be using garageband and logic express

I have been playing around laying down tracks for about 5 years so I have a pretty good basic knowledge of mixing. We are just getting our new home recording studio going, so we are still buying and no doubt getting rid of some gear we jumped on early on.
