A very interesting place for a recording studio in Scottsdale, AZ. This abandoned elementary school was re-purposed into a full blown recording studio, complete with a photography studio attached.

I have a Zoom H1 and want to conduct oral history interviews by setting up two external mics. . (I'm brand new at all of this)

1. Can I do this? I assume two tracks means the X and Y onboard mics are both recording, how do I hook up two external mics? Am I right that each mic would then record in mono?

Being a bit of an analog dinosaur, it took me a number of years playing catchup to master (no pun intended) the new fangled digital recording technology. However, once mastered (still no pun intended), even I couldn't fail to see the advantages.

Ok, so I am in a little quandry. My M-Audio EX66's have blown another tweeter. never again will I replace or buy those again! Temporarily I am using my "little" M-Audio Studiophile monitors to get by until I can get something decent. I have about $1200.00 to for the upgrade.

I'm contemplating my next buy. It will be a preamp. I'm looking for "that tube sound". I need richness and clarity, etc. This preamp is primarily for vocals. If it does vocals well, then I'm happy. I can always try it out on other things.

That being said, I'm torn between these two:

How do you like the UAD-2 QUAD? Whats it all about?
What DAW are you using it with and does it work well?

is it standard, in classical music recording studios, to isolate musicians and have them play live with each other, through listening to their headphones as is done in other studios recording folk, pop, rock etc?

1. As you would expect at a Sweetwater Gearfest there is a lot of focus on gear. But the sales pitch is relatively soft and I did not find it annoying.

I have a set of Grund Audio dual 15" with horn and internal crossover that I want to re-wire to biamp with my external crossover. Can I just run new wires from the speakers straight to jacks or do I need any signal modification? Also should I wire the 15's parallel or series? The whole system will be run stereo 3way with a separate set of 18" cabs.
