Sony PCM-M10 phantom power question .

Hi all, first question here ! Nice to find this place ...
I have a pair of CA-14 mics, 1 card, 1 omni mics to go with my Sony PCM-M10 .
Im wondering if the built in phantom power is enough for either pair of mics for around 2 hours .?
A short test sounded great with the omnis . I plan on recording a guitar player only at a local theater .

Cubase guitar monitoring routing/bus

Hi

Does anyone know, how to route/bus a guitar input signal in Cubase, to a specific output channel?
And, if possible, so only the inputsignal is routed (when monitored for example), not the channel itself

I would like to use Amplitube, and get the guitar sound to a guitar amp using Cubase (so I can record the dry sound and hear the wet sound)

Sound Related | New Post - A Night in Varanasi with Dr Mishra

Hey All,

Just posted the next entry in my blog series, recounting my travels through Nepal and India making location recordings.

This entry you'll find me in the holy Indian city of Varanasi, recording a family trio on sitar, tabla and violin. If you're into eastern music be sure to check this out.

Royer SF-12 on overheads

So my Royer SF-12 came today. I'm in love. Tried it on drum overhead. Just the damned stereo mic 2 feet over the center of the kit in Blumlein. I'm blown away. A beautiful image of the whole kit. Best picture of the cymbals I've heard. Lovely natural sound of the toms. For some genres I guess you'd mic them individually, but not for the country/folk/blues/Americana stuff I'm doing now.

iso cab

i recently built an Iso Cab (see post SOLDERING HELP please). i pluged my mesa boogie single rectifier rectoverb into it. but when i start playing with the red channel (distortion) its REALLY bassy. and i mean outside of the iso cab, not the ''recording part''. is there any tricks to attenuate the bass that comes from the iso cab. (exemple: blanket, foam, etc...)

thanks

Recording essentials for an amateur?

I want to record a bit, but I have zero experience. I am not very good with computers and I don't want to spent too much money (40/50 bucks) I don't plan to do much with the recording stuff. A few things I want to do: record both guitar and voice with a reasonable high bitrate, no background noise and the music will be used as background music, so ... it should sound like that xD.
