Record Korg MS2000B into Ableton live 8

Hello

I am trying to record my Korg Ms2000b into Ableton live 8.

What kind of gear do I need to make this happen? I have a m-audio 1X1 midi interface running two midi cables into the Korg, but I can't get any sound from my speakers nevermind the ability to record it. I have the track armed and preferences adjusted to recognized the interface.

Need a new USB interface, can't decide?

I am looking to purchase a new Audio Interface.

Currently, I have a Line 6 POD Studio UX1. It served me well for about 2 years, and it helped me learn a lot about recording, but now it is dying and I am looking to upgrade to something that will give me more control and flexibility.

I was looking at the M-Audio Fast Track 8R and the Mackie ProFX12.

Where do latency problems manifest?

I understand what latency is, and I know it perfectly well when I have the monitor button in Cubase on, but what I am confused about is why very low latency should be an issue, like when software is marketed as having very low latency. It seems that Cubase applies whatever inherent latency there is across all tracks, and I have never had any problem tracking.

best way to sample

I'm having some issues with sampling and looping.

If I sample an old rock / RnB song for example, by the time I loop the 4 bars the dymanic changes and you can hear the loop.

Are most people re-recording their samples? I feel like it's the only way to get the samples I want.

Another thing, is it's hard to get the sample I'm looking for without vocals.

Removing a track from a prerecorded audio CD

Please forgive my stupidity here, I am just a trumpet player. But, I am trying to create a accompaniment CD that I can practice my horn with. I want to take a pre-recorded Chris Botti CD and remove his trumpet track so that I can play along with the CD without his trumpet being heard. Is this possible?
