Acoustic guitars- Does the quality always correspond on tape, or are there surprises?
Forums
We all know that acoustic guitars come in an infinite range of qualities and voices, so I am wondering if the quality always corresponds from live listening to tape.
Steel drum samples?
Forums
Is there anywhere to get these? I just think they just add such a cool flavor to certain tracks. Sort of like a VST is what I'm looking for I guess.

Wireless hardware for my PC
Forums
Hey everyone.
I'm look for a means of capturing a single voice from an individual who uses a wireld headset mic. The frequency range is somewhere between the 700 -900 Mhz range. not sure of the mic brand but the receiver is a Shure so you get the idea of what is transmitting.

Using a Mcintosh 1900 Receiver as a preamp
Forums
grandfather recently died and i ended up with some old school top of the line home audio gear.
really stoked about a sweet sounding pair of b&w speakers, a 50lb. Yamaha turntable and mostly about a "mac 1900" stereo receiver. haven't had much chance to look into the specs on the 1900 but it's solid state with tubes...

Opinions on Shure KSM44A?
Forums
Hey guys, I'm about to buy a KSM44A, to record mainly vocals and speech, etc.
What are your opinions on this almost US$1000 mic?
Would you recommend something different for the same price?
Update: Just stating, I also record softer and screaming rock vocals. Need some versatility.
