Thanks for reading this post. I am having some really weird latency issues using Cubase 5. Am using a Tascam US-1641 soundcard with a Dell Studio XPS 16 (2.4 C2D, 3GB DDR3, 320GB HDD). Seven out of the 8 mic inputs on the Tascam are being used for Drum recording and the 9th input (Instrument) is being used for guitar.

What is the best way to record a guitar directly to my laptop? I currently have an adapter that lets me plug into the mic input next to the headphone jack from a preamp. I was wondering if the quality would be any different if I got an adapter that was usb. Is there anything that I don't know about? (I have Sonar 8 if that makes a difference.)

Here is a new composition I wrote. The recording isn't live, but I figured it would be more interesting to watch than a slideshow! The guitar is a Rainsong JM1000. C4C!

Just got a AKG perception 220 an cant make my mind up about a Mogami studio cable or a Monster P500 cable if anyone knows what would be the better cable id appreciate the advice.

For years i've been ghetto rigging ways to record. I want to know what the proper way to record is. Here is how I plan on setting up my gear once i have drum mics.

I have a Behringer PMP 3000 Europower mixer, A mobilePre-USB interface. And a crap ton of Audix om2 mics and a Shure SM58.

Anyone hear of this? It's supposedly a new product in the Onyx line. Good/bad reviews? I'm always skeptical when a company known for having a good line of gear comes out with something 'new'.
