i'm fairly new to the whole home recording environment, so please bear with me here.

i'd like to start recording my own songs using my guitar and some type of drum machine software for starters.

Hey! I've had this problem for ages, but could never really find an answer (googling for "mixer headphone monitor" turns up quite a variety). So, I've come here for help :)

I use a mixer almost daily (for music mixing, internet broadcasts, home projects, etc). I also prefer to use headphones with my mixer (plugged into the phones out). Now here's the problem:

I've had plenty of experience micing/mixing/amping my band indoors. But now we have our first outdoor gig coming up in a couple of weeks. I'm sure I have plenty of power to get the sound level I want, so that's not an issue.

I'm interested in buying a speaker splitter. But I have no clue on what I may need or if I'm buying the correct one. I'm looking to buy one that will support at least 3 speakers. So far i Have two sets of speakers: Samson Audio - Resolv 40a and a pair of EPI 100 i bought from goodwill for like 5 dollars.

I'm new here so I don't know if I'm making another thread, so please post links to old threads about this question.

Whenever i record, and pan either hard left or hard right. It doesn't sound NEARLY as wide as music i listen to. Even with software synths...Why is this?

I own sm57s and an AKG perception 200, with a firestudio project.

Any help would be great.
