So, I am an amature musiciansongwriter who is very eager to get his side career started in recording. What do I need in the way of licenses, record labels and such, to start selling my albums? I have NO idea how any of this music business works and so I have been poking around this forum for some answers...

I am planning on installing Sonar LE on my primary C: drive which already has Cubase 4 installed and running on my PC XP Pro. C: is 500Gb and has plenty of free space (350Gb). I have all my audio wav data going onto a 250Gb D: drive (200Gb free). Everything in Cubase currently works solid, no glitches.

i have been recording my own stuff, using Audacity, for a couple years now, generally with great ease and yielding impressive results. after recently getting our computer cleaned of some viruses and the operating system reinstalled, i've been having problems with latency.

First off I would like to say that this is a rocking fourm, lots of great info and this is my first post.

I need some advice. I just started tracking an extremely heavy metal band, they are very talented but we are having a hard time getting a good preformance out of the lead singer. I have heard him live and he is very impressive but is lacking in the studio.

So i have a Behringer PMP 3000 mixer with 5 mics hooked up. I have a laptop with an external hard drive and with acid music studio.
What I really dont understand is the difference between an audio interface and a mixer.
Since I already have a mixer can i go straight to the computer from there? Or will it not work without an interface?

I have a pa that i need a little help with. I have a Behringer mx2442a mixer, a dbx223xl 2way stereo 3 way mono crossover,crown 1000 and a crow xti 2000 . I would like to hook this up to get the best sound i can get . I have it hooked up in mono, but i dont like the sound. I forgot to say i have JBL 225 for my top cab. and 2 18 inch subs.

I'm trying to cope with getting a drum set on a tiny stage for low volume folk/jazz coffee house gigs. We're thinking about having the drummer use a stripped down set with a snare, high hat, ride and a few traps. We'd like to include some sort of kick as well, and we're considering either a very small kick or a midi pedal. Anyone tried something like this? What have you used for a kick?
