I need a soundcard to use live that will allow me to have a stereo click track in my in-ears as well as outputs to run backing tracks, vst samplers and vst instruments.

Specs:
- 8 1/4" outputs
- One MIDI In/Out
- One assignable headphone jack
- No inputs needed.

am due to finish high school in 4 weeks time, i have a place at college to do my a levels with the following; media studies, ICT, business studies, english literature. however part of me wants to go to music college, though i am just too scared to do so being music is such a hard industry to get into. what would you guys advise?

I use Acid Pro 4.0 and have been making some excellent beats. I use a few loops from CD, a few vocals with my microphone, and the rest I play on my Yamaha keyboard through midi. Inside of acid, everything sounds great, plays great. However, when I finally burn the project onto CD, it retains everything except the midi. I've tried reading the manual but that's some complicated stuff.

I just thought I'd introduce myself before probing knowledgeable minds. My name's Ian and I'm interested in venturing into recording. I'm currently in the enrollment process with Full Sail college. I'm sure they won't venture too far into teaching you how to set up your own home studio...so I figure I'd take the knowledge from them, but still set up my own studio in the future.

When Micing a singer/guitarist, and perchance say that you are using an SM58 for the vocal mic, how would you position the mic to the singer? I sing straight into the mic with the back pointed at the amp to take advantage of the null zone of the cardioid pattern. But I always get better tone when I retrack it later holding the mic under my lips.

I'm in charge of AV for a final presentation at my college and I need to be able to play my iPod through a mixer. I have an aux cable but when I plug it into the mixer the songs come out in mono. I believe it is a Mackie onyx of some sort. Not sure of a particular model as it seems to be an older one.

what do guy's think of the recording connections program.

Hello, everyone, this problem I have is killing me. I am trying to record with midi. I can't figure out how to make it work. So... I want to know if I am at least plugging everything in the right way.
