Ive been running around these forums and other forums trying to figure out all my questions, and a few very specific questions of mine have been answered. But after hours and hours of searching i've officially given up, so I'm just gonna spill my guts here:

just picked up the new Shiny Toy Guns album "season of poison" and its really good..their new female vocalist Sisley is amazing

Hey does anyone have any good tips for minimizing pick noise? Certain placements? Certain picks? I have enough mics to do some tricks, so I welcome any suggestions. My room sound isn't amazing though, so I'd like to keep it rather close.

So I bought 2 HS80m ... First ampboard fried 6 months ago! Fixed it ($230) now the other one failed! Crap!

I don't know what a f*** to do now. I will probably go and buy KRK rp5(open box 235). And save money to fix Yamaha to sell them.

Are KRK rp5 get the job done? I am afraid that I used to 8" woofer now and will f*** up low end. What do you think?

Im new to the froum. A little about me first - Im studying Audio System Design at Southampton Solent University (UK) in my final year.

This company, equation audio, broke off of the company CAD and started making similar budget mics. I looked into their alpha package and it seems really reliable. Does anyone have any reviews on these mics?

After driving myself up a wall, my wife said I should write to this forum.

I know they play in a different league...

I mix mostly acoustic music, jazz, latin or fusion. Right know i'm moving to a lsmaller room, let's say 8' x 11' x 12'. I'm very used to NS10Ms Whichone would you choose? Does the price difference really worth it?

My name is anthony and I'm starting to get into recording. I don't know much but I am very interested and comited to learning. so if u have anything you can tell me it would be great...as in, what I need to start as in eqqitment and anything I would need to learn. I don't mind reading or doing anything that will help me out..and I'm also going to be taking classes soon.

Our room is fitted with a maximum of 6 XLR stage boxes so with this in mind we are setting our initial budget to a maximum or 6 mic's and the associated gear needed.

Mic's in the range of sm57's due to the versatility they offer and a mixer in the £100 to £150 (new price) mark.
