i was thinkin about getting the PreSonus tube pre and the comp and eq 3 band
connect them to my mbox 2 well this be a good thing or a bad thing cuz i need a mic preamp to warm up my vocals and i wanted to comp them while recording and eq them too...but i was wondering if this would be a good buy or will there be a better buy.

my budget is like 300-350

I am thinking of buying a used Creative Soundblaster Extigy external (USB) soundcard, for my dual core system.
I have read somewhere that the best soundcard solution is the Firewire one, then the PCI versions and the last solution you should go for is the USB version of a soundcard.
But that was in the time of good old USB 1.0 and 1.1.

I'm having this problem for a longer time:

occasionally I record this guy with his semi-acoustic band, mostly covers
He sings pretty good and is currently getting professional singing lessons for choirs and operas
As you can imagine he really uses a lot of air

I have a set of Sennheiser HD 280's.

I'm not happy with them, I bought them because they are closed. I need closed headphones for tracking and mix downs since I can't always use my monitors if I want to work later at night.

What are a really good pair of closed headphones?

when i have to setup my FOH mixer on the side of a stage because the venue is small and has no accomodations for sound professionals, even though they claI'm to be a "music venue"

send all tracks back to the Ramsa add comps, gates eq and effects then

two track with stereo comp and eq back into nuendo for final stereo track..

Im moving to Atlanta, Georgia soon with my parents who are going over on a business visa (buying a roofing business). I actually want to start my own business; a music production company but Im not sure how to register it legally etc. so its all official.

do i have to be a US citizen/have a US bank account/social security number to start and register my own business there?

Will buying preamps help my sound quality even though the firepod has preamps on it?
